Syllabus - Acts

Instructor: Bill Goring

I. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: King James Version of the Bible.
Required textbook: J.W. McGarvey's Original Commentary on Acts.


II. You must sign in and be on time for class.
READING ASSIGNMENTS:
Read two chapters each week from Bible and Textbook.


III.Two papers will be required - five pages double-spaced. 1st. Compare and Contrast Each Conversion in the book of Acts. It will be due by September 22nd. 2nd. Pick a subject of your choice (you must clear it with me by October 6th). It will be due November 17th.


IV. You will be required to keep a notebook for each class period.


V. There will be short pop quizzes given randomly from time to time during the class period.


VI. There will be a mid-semester exam on September 29th and a final exam in December on the last Saturday that we meet.

During the first class I will give an introduction to the book of Acts. We will then need to cover 28 Chapters in 18 Weeks.

Classes meet each Saturday 1:00 P.M. to 2:50 P.M. with a ten minute break from 1:50 to 2:00, for 18 weeks, beginning the first Saturday in August through the third Saturday in December.
