Syllabus  -  Hebrews

I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Text: KJV 

2. Read the whole book of Hebrews at least five times during the class at normal reading time. It takes around forty-two minutes to read aloud. 

3. Before attending class, study each assignment. 

4. Book required: The Spiritual Sword Lectureship book: The Great Salvation, Studies in the Book Of Hebrews . 

5. Read The Spiritual Sword lectureship book over each assignment prior to class. 

6. Questions over each lecture are available as a resource on our Moodle Classroom Explorer page.  Each student is to answer the questions covered in the Instructor’s oral presentation each week and upload them in the proper place by no later than midnight on the following Monday.

7. There will be four tests that will be given. The majority of the questions are taken from the questions sent to you by the instructor for each class session. 

8. Your grade will be averaged as follows. You will be given a grade for your weekly questions turned in. Your grades from your four tests will be averaged. You may also receive a grade for special assignments carried out. These three grades will then be averaged to give you your final grade. 

II. SCHEDULE OF ASSIGNMENTS 

Classes meet the first Saturday in January through the third Saturday in May with the exceptions of Spring break and Phillips Street Lectures. Each Saturday will consist of one 50 minute session meeting at 3:00 PM CTZ. 

Session 1: Introduction, Survey of the book, Heb. 1:1-3 

Session 2: Heb. 1:4-14 

Session 3: Heb. 2:1-18 

Session 4: Heb. 3:1-19 

Session 5: Heb. 4:1-16 Test on Hebrews chapters 1, 2, 3 

Session 6: Heb. 5:1-10 

Session 7: Heb. 5:11- 6:6 

Spring Break

Session 8: Heb. 6:7- 20 

Session 9: Heb. 7:1-22 Test on Hebrews chapters 4, 5, 6 

Session 10: Heb. 7:23- 8:13 

Session 11: Heb. 9:1-22 

Session 12: Heb. 9:23- 10:10 

Session 13: Heb. 10:11-25 ; Test on Hebrews chapters 7, 8, 9 

Session 14: Heb. 10:26 - Heb 11:10 


Phillips Street Lectures Break - You will be required to take notes during the Phillips St. lecture in the same time period as our class.

Session 15: Heb. 11:11-40 

Session 16: Heb. 12:1-28 

Session 17: Heb. 13:1-25 

Session 18: Test on Hebrews chapters 10, 11, 12, 13.
