I. PURPOSE: To study the art and science of interpretation (Hermeneutics). To emphasize interpretation of the Bible. To make proper application using the Biblical text.II. TEXTBOOKS: The King James Version Bible (preferred) or The American Standard Version (1901); Principles of Interpretation by Clinton Lockhart, Gospel Light Publishing Co., Delight, AR; Hermeneutics by D. R. Dungan, Gospel Light Publishing Co., Delight, AR III. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Complete reading assignments before class; answer the role each week with a memory verse from the list of verses on the syllabus; prepare and submit two questions and answers each week from the material covered in class and be ready for a pop quiz at anytime. IV. TEST & GRADES: There will be two major exams (mid-term & final). These tests will cover material covered in class, material from reading assignments and material from handouts. Final grade will be determined by class attendance, memory work, questions and answers submitted, any pop quizzes and mid-term & final test grades .
