Syllabus - New Testament Church

I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1.  Text: KJV

2. Textbook required: The 1980 Spiritual Sword Lectureship book: The Church - The Beautiful Bride Of Christ (Newly Reprinted).  Christian Family Bookstore in Chattanooga , TN is our book provider (1-800-782-8175).

3. If there is a chapter in the Spiritual Sword lectureship book which corresponds with the topic or topics for the day, then please read them prior to class.

4. Questions over each lecture will be posted on the Moodle OABS class page as a resource within a day or so prior to the class. Each student is to answer these questions from the Instructor's oral presentation and return them by uploading them at the weekly questions link for that week by no later than midnight on the following Monday.  All students will need to become familiar with our Moodle OABS class page.  All assignments given, all resources provided by the instructor as well as all work submitted by the students, is to be done by means of this class page.  Your instructor is able to open Word, Wordpad and Wordperfect documents uploaded by the student.  While e-mail may be used for communication, all work is to be uploaded in its proper place from the class page. This ensures that all your work is in one secure location for the instructor to give you proper credit.

5. No pop quizzes will be given, however, there will be a number of major tests that will be given throughout the semester.  The majority of the questions are taken from the questions sent to you by the instructor for each class session.  Prior to the test, you will be given these questions again with the correct answers for you to study for your test.  To pass these tests, you will have to study thoroughly the test review pages which I will provide you.

6. You will be given a couple of textbook assignments in which you will be asked to summarize the contents of a chapter. These will receive a grade.

7. Other special assignments may be given at the instructor's discretion.  These will also receive a grade.

8. Your grade will be averaged as follows. You will be given a grade for your weekly questions turned in. Your grades from all of your tests will be averaged. You will receive a grade for textbook assignments and any other special assignments carried out. These grades will then be averaged to give you your final grade.

II. SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

1. Classes meet on Saturdays for a total of eighteen weeks from the first Saturday in August through the third Saturday in December, with the exception of two Saturdays for breaks. Classes are on break and do not meet on the Saturday of the third full week in September and the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

2. Each Saturday will consist of two 50 minute sessions meeting from 3:00 PM until 3:50 PM CTZ and from 4:00 PM until 4:50 PM CTZ with a ten minute break in between classes.
