Syllabus  - Poetry

Instructor: Darrell Conley

I. Course Requirements:

Each student must have a King James Version of the Bible, or an American Standard Version of 1901. The instructor will be using the American Standard Version of 1901.

Each student will be on their honor to complete the weekly reading assignment of the chapters in the Bible. This will count 20% of the final grade.

The homework each lesson will consist of two questions, formulated by the students, with their answers, sent to me no later than midnight on Sunday night following the class on Saturday, Central Time Zone. One question is to be taken from the first hour, and the other from the second hour. They will be graded by how much thought has gone into each question and its answer.

The answer should be thorough, each answer containing at least 100 words. These questions and answers will count 20% of the final grade.

It is important that the homework be submitted on time. The grade will be lowered 5 points for each day the homework is late.

There will be four tests: one covering Job, one Psalms, one Proverbs, and one Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon.

The tests will be e-mailed to the students at the conclusion of the study of these books, and they are due back the following Friday before midnight, Central Time Zone. The tests will be true or false, yes or no, fill in the blank, or answer in few words, etc Each test will count 15% of the final grade.

If you must be absent from a class, please get an excuse from Tom Bright. If you cannot return a homework assignment or test on time, please get an excuse from Darrell Conley.
