Syllabus  - Preacher Epistles

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

A.  Texts:

• The Holy Bible-(KJV, or ASV 1901).

• Before I Die by Wayne Jackson

• Studies in I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus and Philemon by Robert Taylor Jr.

• I & II Timothy & Titus from 1986 MSOP Lectures.

B.  Book Review:  choose one of the two books assigned.  The book review should consist of two pages, double spaced.  It should include your positive and negative reactions to the book as a whole or individual aspects of the book.

C.  Read each epistle three times

D.  Make copious notes and keep a notebook

E.  Paper:  Complete 5, 5 page papers over the following topics in the preachers epistles:

1. An introduction to the three epistles.
2. The eldership.
3. The Inspiration of the Bible.
4. Persecution and how to react to it.
5. The description of the preacher from the three epistles.

G.  Memory work:  For the final test, a selection of the memory work below will be given to you to write down from memory.  There will be a three word starter and it will be from the KJV version.
