Hardware & Software Requirements

To participate as a student at OABS each student needs a computer, good Internet access and classroom software. Thanks to the Chipman Road Church of Christ in Lee's Summit, Missouri and OABS supporters, the classroom software, which enables class participation, will be supplied to each student as they attend OABS.

Beginning with the Fall 2010 semester we offer two types of software for our classes.

1. Blackboard Collaborate - These classes feature real time interactive video and audio web conferences with support for Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and UltraSPARC Solaris operating systems. Click here to test your system and connection and for detailed system requirements. An internet connection with low delay time to the Blackboard server is required. Satellite connections will not work with live Blackboard classes, but can be used for recorded classes. Webcams can be used, but are optional. Microphones must be used with headsets.
