Syllabus – Denominational Doctrines

PURPOSE:
We will set forth "The One True Church and the History of Denominationalism," examine "The Prominent Heresies of the Great Apostasy," and take a look at some of the "Major Denominations of Today."

Optional readings:
Denominational Doctrines by Rod Rutherford
Churches of Today by L.G. Tomlinson
The only accepted Bible versions to be used in this class will be the King James and American Standard Versions

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Memory Verses: Students will be given two memory verses each week
Attendance: Students are required to attend all classes. If a class is missed, the student will be required to view this class on his own time. No credit will be given to any student who fails to make up a missed class.
Term Paper: Students must write a term paper (double spaced using Times New Romans font size 12, 8-10 pages) on a denomination of their choice and emailed to the instructor by Dec. 3
Tests: Tests will be given each session. Tests will be 10 questions.
Notes: Students must take good notes. Students will be graded on their notes. Students will email their notes to the instructor for grading.
SCHEDULED LESSONS:
Classes meet each Saturday for 18 sessions at 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM CTZ. Each class will be 50 minutes in length with a 10 minute break between classes. Two breaks total will be taken over the course of the semester.
