PURPOSE:
To study the message and prophecies of the prophet Isaiah to the nations of Israel
and Judah. Emphasis will be given to the prophecies concerning the Messiah and His church.
Attention will also be given to the historical contexts surrounding the book.
TEXTBOOKS:
The King James Version Bible (Required)
Isaiah - Homer Hailey (Recommended, not required)
Isaiah - Coffman (Available free online, optional)

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Students must complete all assignments on time. Late submissions will have points deducted.
Students must follow OABS attendance policy.
Assignments:
Notes: Class notes/summaries must be emailed to the instructor on a weekly basis.
Reading: Students will be required to read through the book of Isaiah twice before the
completion of this course.
Memory Verses: Students will be required to quote from memory two selected passages before
each class. A selection of verses will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
Discussions: Each week, students will write a paragraph (~100 words) discussing the
significance of the selected memory work from that week.
Outlines: Students will be required to produce four sermon outlines using topics related to the
book of Isaiah. The first two will be due October 3 rd , and the last two will be due December 5 th .
GRADING:
Grades will be calculated as follows:
Outlines: 40%
Memory Work: 15%
Discussions: 25%
Reading: 10%
